Apple has recalled certain 15-inch MacBook Pro models sold between 2015 and 2017 due to a battery defect. If the battery has not been replaced by the manufacturer, the laptop is not permitted on board. Transportation of defective or recalled lithium batteries is strictly prohibited.
Some items may endanger the safety of the aircraft or persons on board. Therefore, transporting such items in hand or checked baggage may be prohibited or restricted. In some cases, prior approval from the airline is required.

Portable (Medical) Electronic Devices
Portable electronic devices (e.g. smartphones, laptops, drones, CPAPs) should preferably be carried in hand baggage.
- Switch off the device and protect it from accidental activation.
- Disable alarms, apps, or any automatic functions.
- Protect against damage using proper casing or cushioning.
- Do not pack together with flammable materials.
- Remove power banks before check-in (carry-on only).

Prohibited Articles
Items not permitted in hand or checked baggage:
Self-Balancing Devices
Battery-powered vehicles (e.g. bicycles, hoverboards, segways) are not accepted as sports equipment.
Oxidising Materials
E.g. bleach, bleaching powder, peroxide.
Corrosives
E.g. acids, alkalis, rust removers, sulphur dioxide, mercury.
Infectious Substances
E.g. bacteria and virus cultures.
Explosives
E.g. fireworks, flares.
Magnetized Materials
Strongly magnetic materials.
Flammable Products
E.g. lighter fuel, paint, varnish, matches, charcoal.
Toxic Substances
E.g. arsenic, cyanide, pesticides, insecticides.
Items not permitted in checked baggage:
Electronic Cigarettes
Electronic smoking devices must be packed in your hand baggage. They are not allowed in your checked baggage. Although e-smokers are allowed on board, the use of any smoking device is still prohibited at all times.
Spare Lithium Batteries and Power Banks
Spare lithium batteries and power banks are not accepted in checked baggage. Spare batteries and power banks must be removed before check-in and are only allowed in cabin baggage.
Items Not Permitted in Hand Baggage:
Fake Weapons, Pointy, Sharp and Blunt Objects
Items that may endanger the safety of passengers, crew, or aircraft are not permitted as hand baggage. This includes fake weapons (or anything that can be used as a weapon), pointy and sharp objects, and blunt objects.
Liquids and Gels
International security rules apply to carrying liquids and gels in hand baggage. A limited amount is permitted. You may bring a maximum of 1 litre in total, divided into individual containers of no more than 100 ml each. All liquids and gels must be stored in a transparent, resealable plastic bag.
Items Requiring Approval:
Lithium Batteries
Whether lithium (-ion and metal) batteries and devices powered by lithium batteries are allowed on board depends on their Watt-hour rating.
- All devices with installed lithium batteries and all spare batteries must always be carried as hand baggage.
- Devices with installed lithium batteries and spare lithium batteries rated above 100 Wh and up to 160 Wh are allowed only with prior approval from FlyVelox.
- Devices with installed lithium batteries and spare lithium batteries rated above 160 Wh are prohibited for transport.
- Defective batteries are prohibited for transport.
Smart Bags
Smart bags (bags with lithium batteries, motors, power banks, RFID, Wi-Fi technology, electronic bag tags, etc.) are subject to the following restrictions:
- Smart bags are allowed as checked baggage if the battery is removed and carried in the cabin.
- Smart bags within cabin size limits are allowed if the battery is removable.
- Smart bags with a non-removable lithium battery are prohibited.

Arms and Ammunition
Carriage of arms in the cabin is not allowed. Arms and ammunition permitted for transport are accepted only as checked baggage.
- Sporting guns, pistols, revolvers, and rifles
- Side arms of which no automated version exists
- Hunting rifles
- Other small defence arms such as knives, daggers, stilettos, etc.
Arms with explosive or incendiary projectiles are not accepted.
Ammunition
Transportation of ammunition is very limited as it is considered dangerous goods. The maximum quantity permitted is 5 kg per passenger.

- Packed separately from the firearm
- Packed in a strong container made of wood, metal, or fibreboard
- Protected inside the container against shock and secured against movement
- Packed in such a way that it cannot function by accident
Dry Ice
Maximum 2.5 kg per passenger. Prior approval is required.

Electrically Powered Mobility Aid
Not accepted on FlyVelox due to limited space. Foldable battery-powered mobility aids may be possible.

Gas Cartridges
Gas cartridges for self-inflating safety devices: up to 2 small cylinders fitted in the self-inflating safety device, and up to 2 spare cylinders for that same device.
Plants, Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers or Seeds
Plants, fruits, vegetables, flowers, or seeds are not allowed in the EU without a phytosanitary certificate.
Bananas, coconuts, dates, pineapples, and durians may be brought into the EU without one.
No certificate is required if they come from Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
A certificate is required for items from Ceuta, Melilla, and the Canary Islands.
